Joining us in April 2022, our new BMS Project Engineer came to us with 10 years’ experience in the industry. In his previous role he had been responsible for project engineering of both new BMS installations and system upgrades. These works included all the hands-on engineering. From the initial studies of sites and producing estimates and designs through to system delivery and commissioning. He managed the BMS systems at these sites and built really strong relationships with clients, becoming their go-to for all things BMS.
So it’s no surprise that he quickly became entrusted in delivering new installation and BMS upgrade works. His broad knowledge is complimented by his great can-do (and does do!) demeanour. Always a cool head with the ups and downs of our line of work, for example, when swapping out critical controllers of plant equipment feeding hospital theatres and ensuring seamless change over; he gets the job done.
As can often be the case, whilst he had built up his skills in all things BMS though hard-earned experience, he had never been given the opportunity to formally train. This was an easy fix for us as we have an employee development ethos coupled with a great training program to get the best for our people and through our people, for our clients.
In the first year with Kernow Controls, he completed 3 BCIA BMS engineering courses, upskilling to the BCIA advanced BMS engineering level. He completed his BS 7671 – 18th Edition and now holds a BMS Engineer ECS card. This training, together with first aid and CITB SSSTS (Site Supervisors Safety Training) certificates form a solid launch pad he can personally excel from, with the added benefit to our clients and our team. He completed a 5-day Tridium Niagara TCP engineering course, icing the cake of the expertise he already has in using this great control software tool.
Our BMS Project Engineer is a real asset to the BMS industry, and we are fortunate to have him as part of our team. This engineer is going places and it’s a real privilege that he is on that journey with us.
